Did we plan for it to snow in a really sleety kind of way? Not really. Were we happy that it actually did? Well, I was (minus the slight frostbite that I got). And here is the thing – Kelly and Scott are snow people. Like to the point that Scott proposed to Kelly on top of a MOUNTAIN (as she was getting ready to go down in some sort of snow-sport kind of way)… so this actually fit them perfectly! But back to the photography part of this, the misty snow/sleet/whatever-it-was created a gorgeous backdrop for this engagement session. Kelly and Scott live in Queens, so they asked me to do this photoshoot near Queens Plaza. I don’t get out to Queens very much and I was psyched when I saw the location. Really, I couldn’t get over it. And the foggy weather added the Manhattan city line to the photos as a soft building backdrop – perfect.
Love the rain/sleet. How romantic does it make the pics?!
Kelly and Scott were super sweet and VERY laid back. Very laid back as in they were also totally open to sitting on sleety surfaces : )
Gotta have my black and white!
Long Island City. The rain and fog helped with making the background a little smooth, not to mention people-free.
